CWA Detection Tubes

Rapid, Colourmetric Screening

CWA detection tubes provide rapid, colourimetric screening for the most recognised families of chemical‑warfare agents. Each tube is factory‑filled and sealed; sampling is by a prescribed number of pump strokes to draw a defined volume of air through the indication layer, then compare the colour change to the reference scale printed on the label. Tubes are compatible with common hand aspirators (including the CHP‑5).

Why teams choose CWA tubes
  • Fast, visual results without electronics or calibration.
  • Standardised sampling via “strokes” = equivalent air volume for consistent reads.
  • Fleet interoperability with CHP‑5 and other industry pumps; broad humidity handling.
How it works

Break the internal ampoule(s) (where applicable), attach to the hand pump, take the labelled number of strokes, then match the indication layer to the colour scale on the tube. Some tube chemistries use two reagents for higher selectivity.

Key points
  • Platform: glass detection tubes with printed etalon (reference scale).
  • Compatibility: CHP‑5 and most standard aspirators.
  • Environment: tube chemistries are formulated for field conditions; heated operation can be used in cold weather to stabilise reactions (via the pump).

Typical applications

Hot‑zone verification, perimeter checks during CBRN response, post‑decon confirmation and training evolutions.
