Extended-Range Electronic Personal Dosimeter
PoliSimeter™ ER Electronic Personal Dosimeter
PoliSimeter™ ER Electronic Personal Dosimeter
The PoliSimeter™ ER is an electronic personal dosimeter (EPD) designed for reliable monitoring of continuous and pulsed X-ray and gamma radiation. It provides extended-range personal dose measurement up to 20 Sv, making it well suited to high-radiation environments where clear alarms, robust housing, and simple operation are critical.
As the next generation of Polimaster’s long-established PM1610 series, the PoliSimeter™ platform adds modern connectivity via USB‑C and supports configurable alarms, event logging, and PC-based reporting for personnel exposure records.
Key benefits
- Extended dose measurement range up to 20 Sv for high-radiation environments
- Measures Hp(10) dose and Ḣp(10) dose rate for X-ray (continuous/pulsed) and gamma radiation
- Three alarm types: audible, visual and vibration
- USB‑C connectivity for data transfer and configuration
- Long-life rechargeable battery (typical up to 500 hours)
- IP65 ingress protection with a shockproof, hermetically sealed housing
- Compact form factor: 58 × 58 × 20 mm, 70 g
How it works
PoliSimeter™ ER supports two independent alarm thresholds for dose and dose rate. The dosimeter continuously monitors these thresholds and alerts the wearer whenever a limit is exceeded. It also automatically records measurement history to internal non-volatile memory (up to 7,500 events) to support compliance, reporting, and incident review.
Connectivity, software & reporting
The dosimeter connects to a PC via USB‑C and is supplied with user software for downloading measurement history, maintaining a personnel exposure database, and adjusting dosimeter settings. It is also compatible with the PoliRead® Automated Personal Dosimetry System for organisations running centralised dosimetry management.
Typical applications
- Customs and border control
- Healthcare professionals (including environments using X-ray systems)
- Nuclear power plants
- Emergency services and first responders
- Police and security
- Industrial facilities
