Backpack Gamma–Neutron Search System

PoliPack™ GN-S

Covert gamma–neutron coverage in plain sight

The PoliPack™ GN-S is a spectroscopic gamma–neutron backpack system for Australian CBRNe units, police, border teams, and event security. Detectors and batteries are hidden in a civilian-style pack, while a wired controller and Polismart® companion app deliver live search, dose-rate, neutron, and ID views on the move.

Modular hardware, including an optional external GM probe, Bluetooth® connectivity, and standards-based data format, supports an end-to-end workflow from covert patrol to mapped, exportable evidence.

Why Teams Choose PoliPack™ GN-S?
  • Covert coverage: Civilian backpack form factor hides high-sensitivity gamma–neutron detectors in plain sight during patrols and events.
  • Fast ID and direction: 1024-channel gamma spectrometer, ANSI-style libraries, and direction-to-source indication cut time from first alarm to isotope ID.
  • Mission-ready ruggedness: IP67, submersible, floating housing, 1 m drop rating, and –20 to 50 °C operating range support all-weather deployments.
  • Endurance & flexible power: 6400 mAh Li-ion pack runs ≥72 hours; stationary mains operation turns the pack into a semi-fixed monitor when required.
  • Standards-aligned data: ANSI N42.53 and IEC 62694 design basis, with ANSI N42.42 data output, underpins trust with regulators and integrators.

Frequently Asked Questions

What radiation types does PoliPack™ GN-S detect?

It detects and measures gamma radiation (dose-rate and spectra) and neutron radiation (count-rate), then uses the gamma spectra to identify and categorise radionuclides.

How rugged is the backpack for field work?

The GN-S is IP67-rated, drop-tested to 1 m, and designed to float if immersed. It operates from –20 to 50 °C and in high humidity, making it suitable for most Australian climates and maritime tasks.

What devices can control or view PoliPack™ GN-S data?

Operators use the wired handheld controller for direct control and alarms, and can pair the pack to smartphones via Bluetooth using the Polismart® app for dashboards, spectra, direction indication, and mapping.

How does it handle standards and approvals?

The GN-S is designed to comply with ANSI N42.53 and IEC 62694 for backpack systems and uses ANSI N42.42 data formatting, supporting agency integration and certification processes. Always confirm with your regulator and supplier for local approvals.

Compliance note: Specifications and standards claims are based on manufacturer documentation and may change without notice. End users are responsible for local regulatory approvals, licensing, and export control compliance before purchase and deployment.
