Backpack Gamma Radiation Search System
PoliPack™ G
PoliPack™ G
Covert gamma coverage in crowded spaces
The PoliPack™ G is a gamma-only backpack radiation detector for Australian CBRNe units, police, border forces, and event security. High-sensitivity CsI(Tl)+SiPM detectors, batteries, and electronics are hidden in a compact, durable backpack, while a wired handheld controller and Polismart® smartphone app give operators real-time search, dose-rate, and track views.
Modular hardware, including an optional external GM probe, Bluetooth® connectivity, and standards-based data export, supports an end-to-end workflow from covert patrol to mapped, auditable evidence.
Why Teams Choose PoliPack™ G?
- Covert form factor: Civilian-style backpack hides professional-grade gamma detection in plain sight during routine patrols and event sweeps.
- Fast, stable search: High-sensitivity CsI(Tl)+SiPM detector and multi-detector design improve stability and speed in dynamic backgrounds.
- Rugged in the real world: IP67 rating, 1 m drop resistance, floating housing, and –20 to 50 °C operation support all-weather deployments on land and near water.
- Flexible power & mounting: 6400 mAh Li-ion for ≥72 hours run-time plus mains-powered stationary mode for ad-hoc semi-fixed monitoring.
- Standards-aligned data: ANSI N42.53 / IEC 62694 design basis and ANSI N42.42 data format build trust with regulators, integrators, and procurement teams.

Frequently Asked Questions
What radiation types does PoliPack™ G support?
PoliPack™ G is a gamma-only system. It detects, tracks, and measures gamma dose-rate and acquires gamma spectra; neutron detection is available in the PoliPack™ GN variants.
How rugged is the backpack for operational use?
The G is IP67-rated, drop-tested to 1 m, and designed to float if immersed. It operates from –20 to 50 °C and in high humidity, so it suits most Australian climate zones, coastal patrols, and wet-weather deployments.
What devices can I use to control PoliPack™ G?
Operators can use the wired handheld controller for direct control and alarms, and connect via Bluetooth to the Polismart® app on iOS or Android for live dashboards, GPS tracks, direction indication (family feature), and data export.
Does PoliPack™ G follow recognised standards?
The PoliPack BRD family, including the G, is designed to comply with ANSI N42.53 and IEC 62694 for backpack radiation detectors and uses ANSI N42.42 for data formatting. Formal acceptance and certification remain subject to your local regulator and test reports.
Compliance note: Specifications, libraries, and referenced standards may change without notice. Agencies are responsible for confirming local approvals, licensing conditions, and export controls before purchase, deployment, or cross-border transfer.
