Gamma–Neutron Search Backpack

PoliPack™ GN

Covert backpack, dual-radiation reach

The PoliPack™ GN is a gamma–neutron backpack radiation detector for Australian CBRNe units, police, border teams, and event security. Gamma and neutron detectors, batteries, and electronics are hidden in a civilian-style pack, while a wired handheld controller and Polismart® smartphone app give operators live search, dose-rate, neutron, and direction-to-source views.

Modular hardware, including an optional extended-range GM probe, Bluetooth® connectivity, and standards-based data export, supports an end-to-end workflow from covert patrol to mapped, shareable evidence.

Why Teams Choose PoliPack™ GN?
  • Dual-modality coverage: CsI(Tl)+SiPM gamma detector and ^6LiF/ZnS neutron detector tracks both photons and neutrons in one platform.
  • Faster localisation: Search-focused screens and direction-to-source indication reduce time from first alarm to locating the source.
  • Rugged and water-ready: IP67 rating, 1 m drop rating, and floating design support deployments in wet, hot, and coastal Australian conditions.
  • Endurance & flexible power: 6400 mAh Li-ion pack delivers ≥72 hours of operation, with mains-powered stationary mode for ad-hoc fixed monitoring.
  • Standards-based trust: Designed around ANSI N42.53, IEC 62694, and ANSI N42.42 data format to align with agency, regulator, and integrator expectations.
What’s in the Kit?

Frequently Asked Questions

What radiation types does PoliPack™ GN detect?

PoliPack™ GN simultaneously detects gamma and neutron radiation. It measures gamma dose-rate, logs neutron count-rate, and supports spectral logging for more detailed analysis via Polimaster software.

How rugged is the system for real-world operations?

The GN is IP67-rated, drop-tested to 1 m, and designed to float if immersed. It runs from –20 to 50 °C and in high humidity, making it suitable for most Australian field, maritime, and bad-weather deployments.

What devices can I use to operate PoliPack™ GN?

Operators can use the wired handheld controller for direct alarms and control, and connect via Bluetooth to the Polismart® app on iOS or Android for live dashboards, GPS-referenced tracks, configuration, and data export.

Does PoliPack™ GN provide radionuclide identification?

The PoliPack BRD family supports spectra acquisition and analysis, but full spectroscopic radionuclide ID is explicitly documented for the GN-S model.
