Four-Detector Gamma Screening
PoliGate™ Light G4
PoliGate™ Light G4
Four-detector gamma screening for wide lanes
The PoliGate™ Light G4 is a double-sided, gamma-only radiation portal monitor for Australian ports, borders, scrap and waste sites, and critical infrastructure. Four 8.8 L plastic scintillation detectors with integrated lead shielding deliver high-sensitivity screening across control zones up to 6 m × 4.5 m, even with traffic moving at up to 20 km/h.
Modular mounting on frames or walls, Ethernet-linked operator software, and options such as video integration give you an end-to-end workflow from commissioning and tuning through to alarm review, evidence capture, and long-term reporting.
Why Teams Choose PoliGate™ Light G4?
- Wide-lane coverage: Four gamma detectors in a double-sided layout provide a control zone up to 6 m × 4.5 m, ideal for multi-lane gates and high-sided vehicles.
- High sensitivity, low noise: Lead shielding and organic plastic scintillators deliver strong responses to ¹³⁷Cs, ⁶⁰Co, and medical sources while holding false alarms below 1 in 1000 passages at background <0.1 µSv/h.
- Keep traffic moving: Rated for 8 km/h and even 20 km/h drive-through operation with no stop required, avoiding congestion at busy portals.
- Built for harsh sites: IP55 pillars, −30 to 50 °C operation, and up to 98 % RH at 40 °C suit Australian scrap yards, ports, and industrial yards.
- Power resilience & remote UX: Wide-range AC input plus >8 h internal 12 V backup battery keeps screening alive during outages, while Ethernet links the RPM to operator software for real-time dashboards and alarm handling.
What’s in the Kit?

Frequently Asked Questions
What radiation does PoliGate™ Light G4 detect?
G4 is a gamma-only portal. It detects increased gamma radiation from industrial, medical, and nuclear materials; neutron-sensitive RPMs are available in other Polimaster series if required.
How rugged is the system for Australian yard and port environments?
Each detection block is IP55-rated and specified for −30 to 50 °C, high humidity, and outdoor operation, with lead shielding to stabilise counts in changing weather and background conditions.
What does the operator use as the “companion app”?
The RPM connects over Ethernet to a Windows®-based operator workstation. That software provides live count-rate and alarm views, logging, and can integrate with optional CCTV, so operators get both radiation and video context for each event.
Is PoliGate™ Light G4 compliant with RPM standards?
The Light series is documented as partially compliant with IEC 62244:2019 and ANSI N42.35-2016, and meets EMC and safety standards such as IEC 61000-6-2/6-3, IEC 61326-1, EN 55022 Class B, and IEC 61010-1. Formal approval still depends on your regulator and site-specific testing.
Compliance note: Specifications, MDAs, and standards references are based on manufacturer and distributor documentation and may change without notice. Agencies are responsible for confirming local regulatory acceptance, licensing conditions, and export controls before procurement, installation, or cross-border transfer.
