One-Sided Pedestrian Gamma Portal
PoliGate™ Pedestrian G1
PoliGate™ Pedestrian G1
Walk-through screening, fixed-site assurance
The PoliGate™ Pedestrian G1 is a one-sided gamma radiation portal monitor for Australian government sites, nuclear facilities, research centres, transport hubs, and high-risk industrial plants. A single 11 L plastic scintillator detector, lead shielding, and smart occupancy sensing provide continuous walk-through screening of people, bags, and small packages at up to 5 km/h.
Paired with an Ethernet-connected operator workstation as your “companion app”, G1 supports an end-to-end workflow from installation and tuning through to alarm review, export, and long-term audit.
Why Teams Choose PoliGate™ Pedestrian G1?
- Compact lane coverage: One-sided pillar supports 1.0 × 2.0 m or 1.5 × 2.0 m walk-through openings at 5 km/h, ideal for doors and corridors.
- High sensitivity, low clutter: 11 L PVT detector with lead shielding and tuned thresholds keeps MDAs in the tens of kBq range while holding false alarms below 1 in 1,000 passages.
- Keep people moving: No-stop design at walking speed reduces bottlenecks at staff entrances, crew lanes, and controlled facilities.
- Rugged for real sites: IP65 enclosure, −30 to 50 °C operating range, and up to 98 % RH at 40 °C suit both indoor lobbies and exposed external entries.
- Power resilience & central control: Wide-range AC input, >8 h internal 12 V battery, and Ethernet-linked software align with existing control-room and security workflows.
What’s in the Kit?
PoliGate™ Pedestrian G1 detection pillar, electronics/control cabinet with integrated 12 V backup battery, local light and sound alarms, occupancy sensors, mains power cabling, Ethernet interface, operator workstation software licence, installation hardware, and user documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What radiation does PoliGate™ Pedestrian G1 detect?
G1 is specified as a gamma RPM. It detects increased gamma fields from industrial, medical, and nuclear materials. Neutron-performance requirements are typically met by GN-series pedestrian models.
How rugged is the G1 for entrances exposed to weather or dust?
The pillar is IP65-rated and designed for −30 to 50 °C operation with high humidity tolerance, so it can be installed at sheltered outdoor gates, plant entries, and high-traffic industrial doors.
What’s the “companion app” for operators?
PoliGate™ Pedestrian G1 connects over Ethernet to a Windows®-based operator workstation. The software shows live count-rate and alarm status, logs events, and supports exporting data for investigations and reporting.
What exactly is included when we order G1?
A typical system includes the detection pillar, control cabinet with backup battery, local audible/visual alarms, occupancy sensors, power and network hardware, and the operator software licence. Mounting details and any video integration are sized to your site.
Compliance note: Specifications, MDAs, and standards references are based on manufacturer documentation and may change without notice. Agencies remain responsible for confirming local regulatory acceptance, site licensing, and export-control obligations before procurement, installation, or cross-border transfer.
