Wide-Lane Gamma–Neutron Vehicle Portal

PoliGate™ Vehicle G4N4

Gamma–neutron reach for wide lanes, without a convoy of hardware

The PoliGate™ Vehicle G4N4 is a double-sided gamma–neutron radiation portal monitor for Australian ports, borders, rail heads, and industrial gateways. Four 11 L plastic scintillator gamma detectors and four solid-state neutron detectors screen trucks, rail wagons, and containers as they drive through at 8–20 km/h.

Modular hardware (pillar height, lane width, CCTV integration, cabinet placement) and an Ethernet-connected operator workstation as your “companion app” support an end-to-end workflow from commissioning and tuning through to alarm review, incident export, and auditable reporting.

Why Teams Choose PoliGate™ Vehicle G4N4?
  • True dual-modality cover: Four 11 L gamma detectors plus four ¹⁰B/ZnS(Ag) neutron detectors: one system for photons, neutrons, and shielded SNM.
  • Wide lanes at speed: Up to 6 m × 4.5 m control zone at 8–20 km/h: suits ports, rail, and multi-axle traffic without forcing stops.
  • High sensitivity, low noise: MDAs down to ~0.16 MBq of ¹³⁷Cs and 14,000 n/s of ²⁵²Cf at 8 km/h with false-alarm rate <1/1000 passages.
  • Built for hard sites: IP65 pillars, −30 to 50 °C and up to 98 % RH at 40 °C: ready for coastal spray, dust and heat.
  • Standards-aligned design: IEC 62244 and ANSI N42.35 basis, plus EMC and safety standards: easier conversations with regulators and integrators.

Frequently Asked Questions

What radiation does PoliGate™ Vehicle G4N4 detect?

Vehicle G4N4 detects both gamma and neutron radiation. It uses large-volume plastic scintillators for gamma and ¹⁰B/ZnS(Ag) detectors for neutrons, supporting detection of unshielded and shielded SNM and industrial/medical sources.

How rugged is G4N4 for Australian yards and ports?

Detector pillars are IP65-rated and specified from −30 to 50 °C with high humidity tolerance. Combined with lead shielding and industrial cabinet hardware, they’re designed for continuous duty in exposed, dusty, and coastal environments.

What’s the “companion app” for operators?

The system connects over Ethernet to a Windows®-based operator workstation. That software shows live gamma/neutron count-rates, alarms and status, logs events, and can integrate with site CCTV and higher-level security systems.

What standards does Vehicle G4N4 align with?

The PoliGate Vehicle line is designed around IEC 62244:2019 and ANSI N42.35-2016 for RPM performance, and meets common EMC and electrical safety standards. Formal acceptance still depends on local regulator requirements and site-specific testing.

Compliance note: All specifications, MDAs, and standards references are based on manufacturer documentation and may change without notice. Agencies remain responsible for confirming local regulatory acceptance, site licensing, and export-control obligations before procurement, installation, or cross-border transfer.
