CBRNE Sampling Kit

FAC® – Screening Kits for Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Explosives

Collect, package and manage CBRNE samples in the field with a kit designed for traceability and operational use. The FAC® is a field-portable, self-contained sampling kit in a backpack format, built to support sampling activities in hazardous or non-permissive environments where clean/sterile tools and reliable packaging matter.

Designed around practical workflows, the kit is organised into colour-coded modules so operators can quickly locate the correct components by sample type. Single-use packaged items are designed to be easy to open while wearing PPE, and each kit is individually serial numbered for reach-back and accountability.

Why teams choose QSA102 FAC®

  • Chemically cleaned/screened chemical sampling tools: tools for chemical sampling are cleaned/screened for over 10 chemical warfare-related compounds and a list of TICs/TIMs.
  • Sterile biological sampling tools: tools for biological sampling are sterile, supporting cleaner sample handling.
  • CBRNE sampling capability in one kit: supports chemical, biological, radiological (wipe) and explosive sample collection within a single system.
  • Field-portable backpack: self-contained configuration for rapid deployment and movement.
  • PPE-friendly packaging: items packaged for single use are designed to be easy to open while wearing PPE.
  • Traceability built in: each kit is individually serial numbered for reach-back.
  • Fast identification of components: separated by coloured modules so teams can find the right sampling items by sample type.
  • Resupply support: each item in the kit can be repurchased for straightforward resupply.

Sampling capability

  • Chemical samples: obtain nine chemical samples (liquid, wipe, or solid)
  • Biological samples: obtain five biological samples (liquid, wipe, or solid)
  • Radiological samples: obtain six radiological samples (wipe)
  • Explosive samples: obtain three explosive samples

Module layout (operator-friendly organisation)

The QSA102 FAC® is organised into modules and functional pockets to support fast, structured field sampling:

  • Liquid Module
  • Solid Module
  • Wipes Module
  • Biological Module
  • Radiation Pocket
  • Powder Screening
  • Tools & Consumables

Clean/sterile component assurance (traceable by lot)

Chemically cleaned components: the kit includes chemically cleaned components that are cleaned and packaged to help preclude cross-contamination. These components are certified to not interfere with common chemical warfare agents, precursors and degradation compounds; representative TICs and TIMs; and EPA SW-846 Method Semi VOA chemicals (lot-based test reports maintained by QuickSilver Analytics).

Sterile components: the kit also contains sterile components with a manufacturer-designated expiration date or “sterile unless the integrity of the package is compromised” (lot-based certificates of sterility maintained by QuickSilver Analytics).

Frequently asked questions

What is the QSA102 FAC® used for?

The QSA102 FAC® is a field-portable sampling backpack designed to support collection of chemical, biological, radiological (wipe) and explosive samples using cleaned/screened and sterile tools.

How is the kit organised for field use?

The kit is separated into modules (and described as colour-coded) so operators can quickly find sampling items based on sample type, with single-use packaging intended to be easy to open while wearing PPE.

What makes it “certified” for sampling?

The kit includes chemically cleaned components certified to not interfere with specific agent/interference categories (with lot-based test reports maintained by the manufacturer), and sterile components with lot-based sterility documentation and manufacturer-designated expiration or “sterile unless compromised” guidance.

Can we resupply individual components?

Yes. The manufacturer states that each item in the kit can be repurchased for easy resupply.

Is there a training version?

Yes. Training kits are available and are described as identical to the real kit, except the backpack colour and the items are not cleaned/screened or sterile.
