Real-Time Heat Stress Monitoring Armband

Equivital eq LifeBand

Stay cool under pressure. The eq LifeBand is an advanced wearable armband for real-time heat stress monitoring—designed to help protect lives and optimise performance across high-risk, high-heat environments.

From industrial workplaces to frontline operations, eq LifeBand delivers accurate physiological monitoring and on-body alerts to help you prevent heat-related risks before they escalate. It’s lightweight (30 g), tough, and built for comfortable wear across long shifts.

Why teams choose eq LifeBand

  • Real-time heat monitoring: monitors key heat strain indicators and provides timely alerts when thresholds are approached or exceeded.
  • Multi-sensory, configurable alerts: haptic, visual and audio alerts to cut through noise and PPE constraints.
  • Work/rest cycle automation: intelligent WRC alerting to align with your site policies and help reduce heat injury risk.
  • (WBGT) Assess ambient environmental heat load: supports assessment of ambient heat load for better operational decision-making.
  • Fall detection + activity monitoring: six-axis accelerometry supports fall alerts and movement/activity monitoring.
  • Comfortable at scale: designed for high volumes and large-scale operations, with two armband sizes for all-day comfort.
  • Standalone or connected: operate standalone, or connect via Bluetooth (and optional Wi-Fi) for broader oversight and analytics.
  • Black Ghost V2 integration: enable easier data collection, analysis, and reporting for preventative action and continuous improvement.
  • Built for harsh conditions: durable design with IP67 environmental rating for demanding workplaces.

Where eq LifeBand fits

  • Industrial: protect workers and support safety compliance with real-time heat stress and safety alerts.
  • First response: support endurance and recovery monitoring for extended operations.
  • Military: enhance performance oversight in high-stress, high-risk environments.
  • Nuclear: add confidence that vital signs are being monitored in high-consequence settings.

How it works

Worn on the upper arm, eq LifeBand captures heart rate via PPG, skin temperature, estimated core temperature, and movement/activity data. When configured thresholds are met, it provides immediate on-body alerts. For organisations managing teams at scale, it integrates with Equivital Black Ghost V2 for centralised data capture, reporting, and post-event review.

Frequently asked questions

What does eq LifeBand monitor?

eq LifeBand captures heart rate (PPG), skin temperature, estimated core temperature, and movement/activity data (including steps). It also supports WBGT monitoring for ambient heat load assessment and uses these inputs to drive alerts and work/rest guidance.

How do alerts work on-site?

Alerts are delivered directly on the armband via configurable haptic, visual and audio feedback—supporting fast intervention even in noisy or PPE-heavy environments.

Can it run without being connected to a phone or network?

Yes. eq LifeBand supports standalone functionality for on-body alerting, and it can also be used in connected modes (Bluetooth / optional Wi‑Fi) depending on your deployment and reporting needs.

Is it rugged enough for industrial operations?

It is designed for harsh conditions and carries an IP67 environmental rating.

Does it support work/rest cycles and compliance workflows?

Yes. eq LifeBand supports automated work/rest cycle alerting (WRC) to align with your policies and can integrate with Black Ghost V2 for easier data collection, analysis and reporting.

What sizes are available?

eq LifeBand is available in two armband strap sizes, covering upper arm measurements up to 42 cm.
