CBRN Isolation Pod
Contamination Isolation Pod
Contamination Isolation Pod
Isolate and evacuate a casualty safely in contaminated environments. The CBRN Isolation Pod (CIP) is a rapidly deployable, single-patient evacuation system designed to protect a casualty in a contaminated environment and help protect medical personnel from a contaminated casualty during transport.
Why teams choose the CBRN Isolation Pod
- Rapid deployment: set-up time is under 5 minutes for time-critical evacuation scenarios.
- Designed for contaminated environments: helps protect the casualty inside the pod and reduces exposure risk to transporting medical personnel.
- Material performance: the unique fabric provides more than 24 hours resistance, including against chemical warfare agents such as Lewisite and Soman.
- Filtered over-pressure airflow: the blower feeds filtered air to maintain over-pressure inside the system; airflow runs from head-end to feet-end so the patient has fresh air, and exhaust air is filtered again as it exits.
- Rugged, long-life build: designed to be rugged and reliable with high-quality materials and long service life.
- Transport flexibility: compatible with NATO stretchers and standard back boards, and can also be used without a stretcher.
How it works
The blower supplies filtered air to create over-pressure inside the pod. Airflow moves from the head-end toward the feet-end to support patient breathing comfort, then exhaust is filtered again as it exits the unit. The blower provides up to 6 hours of independent operation time (battery), supporting extended transport windows when required.
Handling, carry, and stretcher compatibility
A back board or stretcher can be fastened to the CIP to help prevent patient movement and reduce the risk of further injury during transportation. The unit features 8 carrying handles and can be carried by two people when used without a stretcher. Clear pockets are provided for patient documents.

Frequently asked questions
What is the CBRN Isolation Pod used for?
It is a rapidly deployable, single-patient evacuation system used to protect a casualty in a contaminated environment and to help protect medical personnel from a contaminated casualty during evacuation.
How quickly can it be deployed?
The published set-up time is under 5 minutes.
How long can the blower run on battery?
The blower provides up to 6 hours of independent operation time (battery).
Is it compatible with stretchers and back boards?
Yes. The CIP is compatible with NATO stretchers and standard back boards. A stretcher/back board can be fastened to help prevent patient movement, and the unit can also be used without a stretcher.
Can clinicians provide care during transport?
Configurations may include long-sleeved chemical-resistant gloves to enable medical aid during transportation, and optional feed-through sets for IV and monitor cables (plus feed-through for medical equipment).
